400 a Day

Over 400 people a day across Asia & Australia are learning more about Dubli Dollars. Over 50% of those 400 are returning later during the week to read more and investigate further.

To highlight.

1. You can become a "customer-shopper" - which means I can send you 10 FREE credits to trial the US website prior to the International launch. Only serious online shoppers looking for brand name goods and who would like to get the cheapest prices should consider signing up. If that's you then click here

or

2. You can become a "Portal Owner" - which means you do what I do. Create my own small business, tell 50 friends about it, give them some free credits to try the site and let nature takes it course. They'll get excited, shop a bit, save some money and eventually will want to tell their friends about it. Then they'll become business owners (like you). They'll earn some money and you'll receive your portion as well. They tell friends and so forth and so on. The potential is there, but you need to ask yourself 3 questions

1. I am truly excited about this to warrant investing in my ability to sign-up new shoppers?
2. Is it an easy sell? Can you easily understand the concept to able to effectively communicate it to friends, strangers, mums, dads and grandmothers online?
3. Do I know people who like shopping and saving a few dollars?

Yes, I know Number 3 is an easy one!

The first step after you've answered these questions is to sign up for 10 FREE credits to use on the site. Play around with it, bid on a few items, explore the site. I used about 10 credits doing this over an hour or two until I knew everything I needed to know about Dubli before I chose to become a business owner.

It was a pretty easy decision. I've been an online marketing pioneer since 1995 - I know a pretty good thing when I see it. Dubli has potential. It has the potential to be bigger than eBay. This is what excites me - I want to be a part of that and I'd like to have a decent income for my efforts. (oh and by efforts I mean time commited to this venture - which currently sits around 10 hours per week - after hours and weekends for me)

How about you? What do you want?

If you are interested but not sure (or even if you are sure) - take the first step and register. The first step is always the hardest. I'll send you 10 credits to explore the site and we'll take our next steps when you are ready.

If that's all too hard - email me dublidollarsasia@gmail.com

Thanks for reading

Only 7 days to go

The Dubli Global platform launches in 7 days. That's the latest. No news is good news!

I'm sure most of you reading this have had their own countries currency perform pretty well against the US Dollar in the last 3 months or so. So it's never been better to buy goods in US Dollars!

I did an order through Amazon last week for about 4 books - total order of around $80 Australian. 2 months ago it would have cost me just under $100.

What I'm getting at is that as a shopper, on a major global shopping portal which prices in USD and delivers around the world - you can't go past Dubli - really you can't

As a potential business owner, the start up costs in having a license and buying credits are a lot better than they were 6 - 12 months ago. I'm stocking up on credits to give out - I'm hedging against the dollar dropping again. If the dollar goes higher, then I'll buy a little more.

Dubli Dollars now has a total of 16 Twitter sites with over 500 followers, over 8 million advertisements have been served on Facebook and over 3000 people have viewed our videos and blogs. Some of these people have signed on as customers, some as business owners.

Asia is excited about Dubli
It takes 2 minutes to register - click here - after your registration I'll send some Dubli Credits

Have a great weekend!

Facebook Delays

I'm surprised that Facebook takes over 12 hours to approve adverts.

In the first 12 hours our adverts were shown 715,000 times with over 300 people viewing details on Dubli Dollars! Now if Facebook got their act together and decided to be on global time instead of US centric time we would have doubled that!

Dubli Dollars is committed to the region and will champion its needs and its customers.

If you are reading this and would like to "play around" on the US site (until the global site is launched on 1 Nov) then email Dubli Dollars Australia Asia Pacific and I'll send you across a few credits!

Hope you had a great weekend!

New additions

Welcome to the just added Dubli Dollars businesses

Dubli Korea
Dubli Africa

Here's to your future!

Facebook Adverts Live

Advertising to key demographics via Facebook is now in its testing phase.

So far the biggest (or most reponsive) countries have been

Africa (surprised here - did this just as a "what if"? scenario)
Japan
Thailand
India
Other Asia

The testing phase will continue until all countries appear in the registration option. Until then its about getting the brand name out there and having potential consumers familiar with the concept.

Once someone. from say Malaysia, can tick the "Malaysia" box in "Country" - then its full steam ahead.

Baby steps, no promises - just warming up for the game.

Happy to say that

Dubli Asia
Dubli China
Dubli Hong Kong
Dubli India
Dubli Indonesia
Dubli Japan
Dubli Malaysia
Dubli Philippines
Dubli Thailand
Dubli Vietnam
New Zealand Dubli
Singapore Dubli

All now occupy the top 1 - 2 spots in their respective markets on Google search.

This is what is called estabishing your foundation.

1 November 2009 launch

The latest word is that launch has been delayed until 1 November 2009 in Australia / New Zealand - namely to co-incide with the global platform launch - which sort of makes sense. Perhaps this should have been the goal at the start - it focuses resources.

For any start up business credibility is key. Launch delays are concerning if as a business manager you have made promises to your potential customers. Having launched businesses and websites in the past, this learning influenced why we have not been actively recruiting customers and business associates.

The concept is exciting, and playing in the USA website is cool, but true client - business interaction on a functioning local website is the focus for conversion and enrolment.

Australia is a good place to start, but Asia is where the growth is - that's my suggestion.

Express Auctions

Currently active in North America and Europe.

October into Australia and 1 Nov delivery available to China and India

So, a reverse auction - how does it work?

Find an current Express Auction item
  • Each click on "show price" lowers the actual price
  • The price drops in 25¢ increments
  • Each "show price" click costs 80¢
  • When the price is right - just buy it!
So its up to you how much you want to pay for it. If it was a $200 gift card and you clicked to show the price (cost USD$0.80) and the price showed $123.00 - you could buy it then and there and the express auction is finished. Or you could hang around for a little while longer, click show price again (cost USD$0.80) and it may have gone down to $75 - do you hang on and risk that someone else is happy to buy at $75. A hard decision? You just need to have a price in the back of your mind where you will be happy to grab the voucher, at a saving, before someone else does. It can be very competitive! (and there have been instances where the price went to zero ($0) and the last person got it for free)

Here's some examples - just from the last week on what was sold.

Macy's $250 Gift Card went for $95
Visa $200 Gift Card went for $175.50 (see the difference in winning bids?)
Mastercard $200 Gift Card went for $183
Nintendo Wii went for $203.75
Panasonic Viera TV went for $0
Wii Console with Sport Game went for $0

Your individual perception on what is a good price determines your success factor. Sometimes you may click just once - other times you may need to spend 4 or 5 times USD$0.80 to get the price you are happy with. No guarantees - its dog eat dog in these auctions!

And what happens with all those "unsuccessful" USD$0.80 bids? - they go to help pay for the item and the marketing and the overheads.

It may take a little while to get up to speed - but I'm confident you'll get there in the end.

P.S I also like that it's brand names. No "xyzrtz TVs or radios or gift cards!"

Setup

Ok, I get the concept.
Reverse auctions, lowest unique bid. (tick)

Its an easy sell - except the customer has to put their money (or Dubli Dollars) where their mouth is when they make a bid. Its not expensive and it saves all that hassle of bidding or going up against someone who has no interest in the product or is just bidding to make the price go up.

I'm not a fan of the normal auction process. People do get carried away in the emotion, bid more than they should and end up with a widget that looked pretty darn good in the sellers picture but now looks like it fell off the back of a truck.

I suppose thats what sparked my interest in Dubli. Namely you get to choose your method of interaction or purchase process and secondly, its for serious buyers and savers. Its also fairly obvious that all the non-winning bids (which cost the bidder a small amount) get used to defray the low final cost of the product and is most likely how the organisation makes their profit and distributes income to their marketers and business associates such as myself.

More later as it come to hand
